Impact the Arts

The URC is thrilled to engage and support children in their exploration of the arts. Research shows that when children are involved in arts classes, they develop stronger social and emotional skills, their performance in school increases and their overall behavior improves.  Coming out of COVID, many children struggle with readjustment to normalcy. Also, children who are vulnerable to participation in violent activities and self-harm experience preventative measures through structured arts. We created the IMPACT Arts Program with children in mind.

 

Join the fun at the URC’s ARTS Experience in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach starting August 25. Participation is FREE. Programs are open to all students in grades 4-7. Dinner will be served at both locations starting at 5:45pm.
